of thir­teen. From an early age, he worked suc­ces­sively on farms, as a drafts­man, a lum­ber­jack, as a car­pen­ter and fi­nally in a tex­tile mill in the city of Ma­gog. In 1976 at the age of 60 Lu­cien Bolduc de­cided to re­tire.

When he was a young boy he en­joyed mak­ing sculp­tures dur­ing his spare time. He was very ob­ser­vant, cre­ative and tal­ented. With his pocket knife, he made all sorts of ob­jects re­mind­ing him of the old days. Sub­se­quently, he par­tic­i­pated in sev­eral lo­cal and pro­vin­cial ex­hi­bi­tions and even ap­peared in a few news­pa­pers and even on tele­vi­sion.
