No-Name™ Caisse

Stanstead Journal - - FRONT PAGE - Staff, Stanstead

Since

Monday afternoon, the former Stanstead Caisse Populaire has been nameless. No, Loblaws is not trying to have a no-name brand applied to its financial services branch. Rather, the Caisse will have a new sign, that will name it correctly as the Caisse Desjardins du Lac- Memphremagog. Someone is trying right now to figure out how to add the seven characters and space that will be needed on the signs.

Officially, the Stanstead Caisse was absorbed by the Lac-Memphremagog Caisse (there is no English equivalent) on January 1st. Last weekend, the ATM services were not supposed to be available for a long period but were, in fact, available most of the time. Over the next couple of weeks, members will have to get new checks as a new master routing number will be issued and the old one retired. If all goes as smoothly as this weekend’s event, nobody will notice the change.

Meanwhile, the new signs should be installed today or before the end of the week at both the Fairfax and Beebe branches.
