The City of Sherbrooke is holding its annual blood drive tomorrow, Thursday, January 31st, and on Friday, February 1st, at the Carrefour de l’Estrie, on Portland Boulevard. Organizers are hoping to receive at least 490 blood donors between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm. To give blood one must be 18 years old or older and must respond to other admissibility criteria. Anyone who would like to give blood but isn’t sure if they are admissible can either call Hema-Quebec at 1 800 847-2525 or consult the Hema-Quebec website at www.hema-quebec.qc.ca, section “Don de sang”.

People are reminded that there is no risk of contracting an illness by giving blood because all the equipment used is new, sterilized, and destroyed once it is used.
