Heavy fine for ‘heavy’ foot

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS -

During the night of January 28th, at about 1:30 am, a vehicle was intercepted after being captured on photo-radar travelling on autoroute 10, at the 111 kilometre mark near Austin, going 203 kilometres an hour, 103 kilometres over the speed limit in that area.

The driver was a man from Sherbrooke, aged 22. He received a fine of $1,552, received 24 demerit points, and his license was immediately suspended for seven days.

Demerit points are doubled when a driver goes extremely fast, however, over and above the legal consequences, this kind of speeding can lead to much more disastrous consequences, usually irreversible.
