Employment Insurance

New Democrat MPs Continue the Fifht

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS -

Pressure on the government is mounting to make it reverse its harmful employment insurance reform, and New Democrat MPs voiced the claims of protestors gathered in Sherbrooke today, in the House of Commons.

“We must maintain pres- sure, it’s the only way to make the government back down on this important issue,” said Pierre-Luc Dusseault (Sherbrooke).

“I salute the groups protesting in Sherbrooke and in other parts of Quebec today,” added Jean Rousseau (Compton-Stanstead). “Mobilization continues and it’s only the beginning,” he said.

“Their cause is just and New Democrats are making their claims heard by the Conservative government in the House of Commons. Today, we continue the fight and will not give until this reckless reform is reversed,” they said.
