McKin­ven named as judge at World Dairy Expo

Lo­cal­dairy farm op­er­a­tor and cat­tle breeder, Cal­lum McKin­ven, of the farm­ing en­ter­prise Look­out Hol­steins & Jer­seys in Can­ton Hat­ley, has been an­nounced as one of the six­teen of­fi­cial judges at the World Dairy Expo which is held an­nu­ally each Oc­to­ber, in Madi­son, Wis­con­sin. It will be his 9th time judg­ing at the event. This ex­hi­bi­tion and dairy cat­tle com­pe­ti­tion, which in­cludes the show­cas­ing of the most upto-date tech­nol­ogy re­lated to the dairy cat­tle in­dus­try, is the big­gest dairy show in North Amer­ica.

Dur­ing the five-day event, breed Cham­pi­ons are cho­sen in each of the seven dairy cat­tle breeds: Ayr­shire, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, Hol­stein, Jersey, Milk­ing Short­horn and Red and White. Those win­ners go on to com­pete for the ti­tle of Supreme Cham­pion. Dairy pro­ducer Cal­lum McKin­ven, of Can­ton Hat­ley, will be a judge at the an­nual World Dairy Expo held in Madi­son, Wis­con­sin. Mr. McKin­ven has judged cat­tle at many ma­jor ex­hi­bi­tions both na­tion­ally, such as at the Royal Agri­cul­tural Win­ter Fair, in Toronto, and in­ter­na­tion­ally in over twenty-eight coun­tries. At the World Dairy Expo, in Wis­con­sin, he will be the judge of the Jersey Show.
