Champlain student takes Expo-sciences final
An ass Chraibi, a Champlain College student, was the winner of the top prize at the Expo-sciences Hydro-Quebec regional final which was held from March 15th to the 17th at the Université de Sherbrooke. With his experimental project in health sciences, called “Pas de crise, je t’hypnotise!”, he won the Premier prix Hydro-Quebec for the best project of all the categories and took home a Hydro-Quebec bursary of $750, a trophy, a gold medal in the senior category, a $1000 bur--
sary from the Université de Sherbrooke, a bursary of $100 from the Conseil du loisir scientifique de l’Estrie, and a subscription to the Quebec Science magazine. He will also take part in the Quebec final of the competition, representing the Estrie region, between April 18th and the 21st, in Saguenay.
Alexander Galt student, Amelie Provencher, received the silver medal in the junior category, along with a $1000 bursary from the Université de Sherbrooke, and a cash bursary of $250 from Eka Chimie Canada.
In total, almost $59,000 in prize money was awarded during the event that attracted 95 participants from high school, college and university
