Cham­plain stu­dent takes Expo-sciences fi­nal

An ass Chraibi, a Cham­plain Col­lege stu­dent, was the win­ner of the top prize at the Expo-sciences Hy­dro-Que­bec re­gional fi­nal which was held from March 15th to the 17th at the Univer­sité de Sher­brooke. With his ex­per­i­men­tal project in health sciences, called “Pas de crise, je t’hyp­no­tise!”, he won the Pre­mier prix Hy­dro-Que­bec for the best project of all the cat­e­gories and took home a Hy­dro-Que­bec bur­sary of $750, a tro­phy, a gold medal in the se­nior cat­e­gory, a $1000 bur--

sary from the Univer­sité de Sher­brooke, a bur­sary of $100 from the Con­seil du loisir sci­en­tifique de l’Estrie, and a sub­scrip­tion to the Que­bec Sci­ence mag­a­zine. He will also take part in the Que­bec fi­nal of the com­pe­ti­tion, rep­re­sent­ing the Estrie re­gion, be­tween April 18th and the 21st, in Sague­nay.

Alexan­der Galt stu­dent, Amelie Provencher, re­ceived the sil­ver medal in the ju­nior cat­e­gory, along with a $1000 bur­sary from the Univer­sité de Sher­brooke, and a cash bur­sary of $250 from Eka Chimie Canada.

In to­tal, al­most $59,000 in prize money was awarded dur­ing the event that at­tracted 95 par­tic­i­pants from high school, col­lege and univer­sity
