Sherbrooke votes for ‘smart’ meters

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS BRIEFS -

Sherbrooke has voted to have Hydro-Sherbrooke install smart meters on its territory. It follows a thorough study of the effects on health of the unpopular meters that emit radiofrequencies of between .25 and 2.2 microwatts per square meter, an emission much lower than those produced by cell phones, microwave ovens, routers and more. The installation of the meters will possibly save the City $9.5 million over 25 years.
