TheEastern Town­ships Cana­dian Club will fea­ture Glo­ria Grow, Di­rec­tor of the Fauna Foun­da­tion, a non-profit or­ga­ni­za­tion that pro­vides res­cue and per­ma­nent sanc­tu­ary for an­i­mals that have been used, ne­glected, abused or re­jected by hu­mans. Es­tab­lished in 1997, the Fauna Foun­da­tion pro­vides a bet­ter life for an­i­mals from farm­ing, en­ter­tain­ment, ed­u­ca­tion and re­search. The pri­mary fo­cus is pro­vid­ing for chim­panzees rescued from re­search. Fauna is a pro­tected en­vi­ron­ment for Que­bec’s na­tive flora and fauna. Sit­u­ated on more than 200 acres in Cham­bly, QC, Fauna of­fers a lake, a river, fields, pro­tected wet­lands and a young for­est of na­tive flora and an­i­mals.

Born in Mon­treal, Glo­ria Grow al­ways had a spe­cial af­fec­tion for and skill in work­ing with an­i­mals. Join the East­ern Town­ships Cana­dian Club for a fas­ci­nat­ing pre­sen­ta­tion and de­li­cious meal at 6:00 PM on Thurs­day, April 11 at Hô­tel Le Prési­dent, 3535 King West in Sher­brooke.

To re­serve for the meal and talk, call 819-837-0192 by April 7. There is a small charge to at­tend the pre­sen­ta­tion only (7:15 PM). Can­cel­la­tions must be made 48 hours in ad­vance of the event. Le Prési­dent is wheel­chair ac­ces­si­ble.
