Kiwis win local tournament
Kiwis had a tough road to the finals after that loss.” They had to beat the strong C.O.M. Granite team in the semi-final, and they did. The final was played between the Kiwis and the Coaticook Midgets, with the Kiwis winning decisively with the score of 5 to 0.
Six teams played in this tournament which is about eight years old. The games that attracted the most spectators were those that included the Vye Roy team. “When that team plays, the whole family, cousins, uncles, aunts, always come out to watch and it’s a big clan!” commented Mr. Parent. “The tournament went very well and I didn’t get any negative feedback from any of the players,” he added.
This weekend, the women’s friendly tournament will take place with eight teams from all around the region, including a team from Lyndonville, Vermont. The games begin on Friday night at 6:30 pm.
