Stanstead’s got talent!
SunnysideElementary is putting on its annual talent show tomorrow evening with the doors opening a little before 6:00pm.
is a fundraiser for the school’s end-of-year school trip to Ottawa for the 5/6 class and will feature eighteen acts by people in three categories: elementary, high school and adult. “Taking part we have some students, teachers, parents and brothers and sisters of our students,” said grade 5/6 teacher Emily Grey who organizes the event.
The entertainers, who all had to audition for the event, will sing, dance, play instruments, perform gymnastics and more. There will also be homebaked goods and refreshments for sale, half and half contests and a special raffle. “We’ll be raffling off a pair of $25 coupons for
but the money from that raffle will go towards the purchase of our stage lights,” explained Ms. Grey.
This is the final fundraiser for the trip and the students and teachers, with the help of many parents, have already raised over $8000 – almost enough. “We just got a new student a few weeks ago so we need to cover a few more expenses for the trip,” added Ms. Grey.
Tickets for the show are $5 each (children under 4 years of age are free) and can be bought at the door.
