Caisse holds annual meeting
On April 23rd, the directors, managers and volunteers of Escouade D of the Caisse Desjardins de Lac-Memphremagog received 150 members at the Annual General Meeting which was held at La Ruche high school. Regarding the results of 2012, the operating surplus rose to $6.5 million while the volume of business rose by 4.4%. Thanks to these surpluses, the Caisse will pay out $1.55 million in individual returns to its members.
Besides the individual returns, the members adopted by a majority the recommendation of the Board of Directors to pay out $450,000 to the fonds d’aide au developpement du milieu. These funds allow the Caisse to support projects just getting started which aim to contribute to the development of the community, create jobs, put in place or maintain local services, and bring new socio-economic activities to the region.
During the meeting, the members elected Therese Gaulin (Stanstead) and re-elected Lucie Lessard onto the Supervisory Board. Louise Felton and Renald Couture were re-elected to the Board of Directors while, elected for the first time, were Andree-Nicole Blouin (Ste-Catherine de Hatley), Nathalie Ferland (Stanstead), Marie-Pier Hinse, Michel Lafleur, Suzie Nadeau (Eastman), and Jeremy Stairs (Stanstead).
This 12th general assembly was also an occasion to warmly welcome all the members of the former Caisse Desjardins de Stanstead, merged with the Caisse Desjardins de Lac-Memphremagog since the beginning of January, 2013.
