Bowl-a-thon and Dinner
Relay for Life teams across the Townships are finishing up their fundraising drives, all in preparation for the
Relay for Life all-night walkathons that take place in larger towns like Magog, Coaticook and Sherbrooke. Here in Stanstead, a new Relay
for Life team has planned their big fundraiser to take place this Saturday afternoon, beginning at 3:30, at the Stanstead Entertainment Centre.
“We’ll be holding a Bowl-a-thon followed by a supper with the live
music of Lise Flanders. It will be all-you-can-eat pasta and people can build their own dish, choosing the pastas they want and the kind of sauce,” said Nick Wood who is on the new team along with Julie Cloutier and Amelie Lagueux. The supper will be followed by an After Party with DJ Smitty from 10:00 to closing time. “All the money raised will go towards the he added.
“We already have four teams for the Bowl-a-thon and there is room for four more,” said Mr. Wood. The top three teams will receive gift certificates from local merchants while the winning team will also have their names engraved on a trophy. “We plan to make the Bowl-athon an annual event.”
Anyone is welcome to attend the supper, not just the bowlers, and tickets are a little cheaper if bought ahead of time. Tickets for the supper and live music will also be available at the door.
