The 2nd in the se­ries of three card par­ties was held on April 27th, ben­e­fit the Stanstead County Hor­ti­cul­tural So­ci­ety. This was held in the din­ing hall at the Fair Grounds. Cards were played at 8 ta­bles. Scores were tal­lied up with Ladies high go­ing to Is­abel Nel­son and Vye Roy. They each had a score of 5260. Ladies 2nd went to Tara Hamil­ton (5180). Gents high was won by Denis Cor­riveau (6120). Gents 2nd went to Jack Kimp­ton (5900). Skunk prize was won by Alan Bul­lock. 10 of any­thing bid went to Deb­bie Smith.

She was born Novem­ber 3rd, 1933 in Man­sonville, Que­bec, the daugh­ter of Wal­lace and Hen­ri­etta (Libby) Julien. On Fe­bru­ary 3rd, 1951 she mar­ried Ger­ard ‘‘John” Lacroix. She at­tended Ur­su­lines Con­vent in Stanstead, Que­bec. Beatrice en­joyed crafts, paint­ing, knit­ting, and cro­chet­ing. She was very gifted and the most en­joy­ment to her was cook­ing and en­ter­tain­ing her fam­ily and friends. She was a mem­ber of the Red Hat Ladies, Com­mu­nity Cir­cle, and Cer­cle Fer­miere in Que­bec. She is sur­vived by her hus­band Ger­ard Lacroix of New­port, VT, by her pre­cious dog, Cud­dles who gave her such joy and never left her side, by her chil­dren Richard Lacroix and his wife Francine of Beebe, Que­bec, and An­nette Lan­tagne and her hus­band Dennis of New­port, VT. She is also sur­vived by her grand­chil­dren David Lacroix and his Com­pan­ion An­nie of Sher­brooke, Que­bec; Rachel Lacroix of Calgary, Canada; Charles Lacroix and his com­pan­ion Ari­ane of Le­vis, Que­bec; Crys­tal Haselton of Boul­der, CO; Nathan Haselton of CO; and Kate­lyn Lan­tagne of New­port, VT; by her great grand­chil­dren Gabrielle, El­liott, Felix An­toine, Lo­hann and Beatrice. She is also sur­vived by her sib­lings Pauline Gil­bert of Beebe, Que­bec; Irene Royea of Beebe, Que­bec; and Mur­ray Julien and his wife Gla­dys of Nova Sco­tia; and by sev­eral nieces and neph­ews. She was pre­de­ceased by her sib­lings Wal­lace, Nel­son and Mau­rice Julien and by Es­ther Cormer. Fu­neral ser­vices will be held at 11 a.m. on Fri­day May 3rd, 2013 at St. Ed­ward’s Catholic Church in Derby Line where a mass of Chris­tian burial will be cel­e­brated.
