Em­ploy­ers and work­ers needed

Once again, the Caisse Des­jardins du Lac-Mem­phrem­a­gog and the Car­refour Je­unesse Em­ploi (CJE) will run the Des­jardins – Je­unes au tra­vail pro­gram that gets to­gether em­ploy­ers with teenagers who are look­ing for their first work­place ex­pe­ri­ence. This pro­gram will al­low thir­teen teenagers, aged be­tween 14 and 18 and liv­ing in the Mem­phrem­a­gog MRC, to find their first job. Three of the thir­teen sub­si­dies for this pro­gram are for teenagers from the Stanstead area.

“It’s harder for youth who have never worked to find a job. How­ever, thanks to this fi­nan­cial aid, they can have ac­cess to a first work ex­pe­ri­ence. The em­ploy­ers ac­cept to re­cruit them, even with­out ex­pe­ri­ence, and to pro­vide ap­pro­pri­ate guid­ance,” com­mented Josee Boily, the gen­eral di­rec­tor of the CJE.

To take part in the pro­gram, em­ploy­ers must of­fer a sum­mer job of at least 180 to­tal work hours and be a mem­ber of the Pro­gramme Con­cil­i­a­tion etudes-tra­vail Mem­phrem­a­gog. The young work­ers must be avail­able to work all sum­mer. Those in­ter­ested must reg­is­ter be­fore May 27th by call­ing Veronique Boutin of the CJE at 819 843-3007, ext. 226.
