Employers and workers needed
Once again, the Caisse Desjardins du Lac-Memphremagog and the Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi (CJE) will run the Desjardins – Jeunes au travail program that gets together employers with teenagers who are looking for their first workplace experience. This program will allow thirteen teenagers, aged between 14 and 18 and living in the Memphremagog MRC, to find their first job. Three of the thirteen subsidies for this program are for teenagers from the Stanstead area.
“It’s harder for youth who have never worked to find a job. However, thanks to this financial aid, they can have access to a first work experience. The employers accept to recruit them, even without experience, and to provide appropriate guidance,” commented Josee Boily, the general director of the CJE.
To take part in the program, employers must offer a summer job of at least 180 total work hours and be a member of the Programme Conciliation etudes-travail Memphremagog. The young workers must be available to work all summer. Those interested must register before May 27th by calling Veronique Boutin of the CJE at 819 843-3007, ext. 226.
