Bai­ley Con­tin­ues As Of­fen­sive Co­or­di­na­tor

Bishop’sGaiters football team head coach Kevin Mackey is pleased to an­nounce that Brent Bai­ley will con­tinue as the team’s of­fen­sive co­or­di­na­tor for the 2013 sea­son, Bai­ley’s sec­ond in this role with pur­ple and sil­ver.

Un­der Bai­ley’s guid­ance in 2012 the Bishop’s of­fense fin­ished third in the prov­ince av­er­ag­ing 414.3 yards per game. The Gaiters’ pass­ing game com­pleted the cam­paign sec­ond in the RSEQ while their rush of­fense was third.

Bai­ley joined the Gaiters coach­ing staff in 2011 as the re­ceivers coach be­fore tak­ing over as of­fen­sive co­or­di­na­tor in 2012. Count­ing his own foot- ball days, Bai­ley has been in­volved with the sport for over 20 years. The bulk of his coach­ing days were spent in Al­berta where, as head coach, he led Strath­cona High School to back-to-back provin­cial cham­pi­onships. He also had stints as the quar­ter­backs and re­ceivers coach for the Al­berta Golden Bears and was a mem­ber of the Ed­mon­ton Huskies (CJFL) staff.

“Brent is an out­stand­ing coach and the best can­di­date for the job,” said Mackey. “He works re­ally well with our play­ers and is a great teacher. Our stu­dent-ath­letes re­spect him and I know they will be ec­static to learn that he will be back. He is ded­i­cated, com­mit­ted to ex­cel-
