It’s not every day that a sixty-year subscriber walks into our office to put an announcement into the newspaper, so when it happens, we like to take their picture. Yesterday, Leslie Bliss, now of Ayer’s Cliff, popped into the office and, a little reluctantly, agreed to have his photo taken. “I’d rather have my picture taken with my wife,” said Mr. Bliss, referring to his wife of roughly the same number of years, Ethel. Mr. Bliss, who operated several farms in Stanstead East before ‘retiring’ to Ayer’s Cliff, is a cousin of one of The Stanstead
Journal’s former publishers, Lloyd Bliss.
