Je prends ma place! Win­ner

The Fo­rum Je­unesse Estrie is proud to an­nounce this year’s win­ner of the sixth edi­tion of the Je prends ma place! Con­test: Joanna Bate­man. Ms. Bate­man is one of the founders of the Tierra del Fuego pro­ject in the Bor­ough of Len­noxville.

De­ter­mined to of­fer a healthy en­vi­ron­ment where peo­ple can learn, get in­volved and dis­cover tal­ents and in­ter­ests, Joanna be­gan this com­mu­nity pro­ject in 2008. Tierre del Fuego has had much im­pact in the com­mu­nity and has served hun­dreds of peo­ple, es­pe­cially in help­ing stu­dents to see a rea­son for their school­ing. She also es­tab­lished a link be­tween Bishop’s Univer­sity stu­dents and the Town­ship­pers’ As­so­ci­a­tion, en­cour­ag­ing stu­dents to get in­volved in the com­mu­nity. She also su­per­vises the com­mu­nity gar­den, or­ga­nizes com­mu­nity din­ners and an­i­mates youth ac­tiv­i­ties.

The win­ner of the Je prends ma place! con­test re­ceives a grant of $1000 and par­tic­i­pates in a spe­cial event at the Que­bec National Assem­bly.
