People who would like to take part can either walk their own dog or walk one of the shelter’s dogs. The suggested donation is $25 per family, however, people can also get friends and family to help sponsor their walk by getting a pledge form by emailing the Frontier Animal Society at frontieranimalsociety@gmail.com. A lunch will follow the walk.

“It’s been a long, hard winter and we’re running low on funds. A typical heating bill during the cold months is about $1,400,” explained the Society’s founder and president, Joyce Dekker. “What’s wonderful is that we have a lot of great volunteers now; that’s made a big difference,” she added.

People are always welcome to drop off supplies at the shelter, such as cat food, dog food, old blankets and towels, and cleaning products. For more information about the Dog Walk, call Brenda at 819 876-7747. Society looking for storage space

The Frontier Animal Society is also looking for a large space to amass, store and then sell garage sale items for their annual garage sale. An empty barn anywhere in the area would be the ideal spot. “We’re looking for a space so we can do it all under one roof,” explained Mrs. Dekker.
