Correction

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS -

As Mr. George Matheson pointed out to us as soon as the paper was out last Wednesday, we made an error in writing that the second line of the Montreal, Maine and Atlantic Railway goes from Coaticook to Newport. It is the Cowansville branch of that railroad that does.

The Coaticook tracks are an altogether different story, the tracks being in a very good condition, the almost exact opposite of the MMAR ones. It is operated by St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad.

Meanwhile, a cursory inspection of the MMAR line in the United States seems to show that they are better maintained than in Canada and that, contrary to what is the norm in Canada, their installations are clearly marked.

In the USA, the equipment owned and operated by MMAR is clearly identified to the company; not so in Canada.
