New di­rec­tor at Colby

The Board of Di­rec­tors of the Stanstead His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety is pleased to an­nounce the ap­point­ment of Ms. Chloë Southam as Di­rec­tor/Cu­ra­tor of the So­ci­ety and the Colby-Cur­tis Mu­seum, ef­fec­tive im­me­di­ately. A na­tive of North Hat­ley, Ms. Southam holds a B.A. in Art His­tory from Con­cor­dia Univer­sity, and an M.A. in Muse­ol­ogy from the Académie Rein­wardt in Am­s­ter­dam, as well as diplo­mas in re­lated fields from the Univer­sity of Tas­ma­nia (Aus­tralia), and the Casa Lamm (Mex­ico). She has held po­si­tions lo­cally at the Eastern Town­ships Re­source Cen­tre of Bishop’s Univer­sity, and the Len­noxville-As­cot His­tor­i­cal and Mu­seum So­ci­ety, and in­ter­na­tion­ally in Hol­land and Mex­ico. In 2008 she was guest cu­ra­tor for the SHS sum­mer ex­hi­bi­tion fea­tur­ing North Hat­ley.

The Pres­i­dent of the Stanstead His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety, Ann Mont­gomery, says: “We are de­lighted that Chloë has joined our team. Her en­ergy and en­thu­si­asm, as well as her pro­fes­sional ex­pe­ri­ence, will bring a new di­men­sion to the ac­tiv­i­ties of the SHS and the mu­seum.”
