New director at Colby
The Board of Directors of the Stanstead Historical Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Chloë Southam as Director/Curator of the Society and the Colby-Curtis Museum, effective immediately. A native of North Hatley, Ms. Southam holds a B.A. in Art History from Concordia University, and an M.A. in Museology from the Académie Reinwardt in Amsterdam, as well as diplomas in related fields from the University of Tasmania (Australia), and the Casa Lamm (Mexico). She has held positions locally at the Eastern Townships Resource Centre of Bishop’s University, and the Lennoxville-Ascot Historical and Museum Society, and internationally in Holland and Mexico. In 2008 she was guest curator for the SHS summer exhibition featuring North Hatley.
The President of the Stanstead Historical Society, Ann Montgomery, says: “We are delighted that Chloë has joined our team. Her energy and enthusiasm, as well as her professional experience, will bring a new dimension to the activities of the SHS and the museum.”
