Coaticook digs up downtown
Coaticook’s Child Street was dug up last week, the beginning of the town’s downtown development project. A by-law had to be changed at the last council meeting so that the noisy construction work can continue until 9:00 in the evening, from Monday to Friday, allow- ing the work to be completed by the due date.
The council also decided to accept a proposal from the company HydroMeteo to provide and install a hydrometric station to measure the level of the Coaticook River. The device will also calculate the flow of water. If the water level or the flow increases rapidly, the town will be quickly notified.
The Coaticook town hall sits behind a mountain of dirt after the work to re-develop Child Street began last week. The work should be finished by the end of November.
