But th­ese trains won’t go south for at least a cou­ple of days as the track re­pairs on the sec­tion that washed away a cou­ple of weeks ago are still not com­pleted. Trans­port Canada has many is­sues with this sec­tion of the MMA sys­tem called the Sher­brooke di­vi­sion as it stated in a no­tice sent to MMA be­fore the flood­ing: “Dur­ing the in­spec­tion, non­com­pli­ances were ob­served such as: var­i­ous rail and joint de­fects; mar­ginal tie con­di­tions; veg­e­ta­tion is­sues; and an in­ad­e­quate amount of bal­last on track shoul­ders. As a re­sult of th­ese find­ings, a No­tice was is­sued di­rect­ing MMA to pro­vide feed­back on how they in­tend to re­solve the above con­di­tions on the Sher­brooke Sub­di­vi­sion. A re­sponse, re­quested by Au­gust 9, 2013, has been pro­vided by MMA and is cur­rently be­ing re­viewed by Trans­port Canada.”
