New Democrat MPs Pierre-Luc Dusseault (Sherbrooke) and Jean Rousseau (Compton-Stanstead) are disappointed that the Conservative government is getting in the way of the reopening of this regional airport.

“The Conservatives have repeated ad nauseam that the economy is their only priority, but by snubbing the Sherbrooke airport, they’ve clearly shown that they can talk the talk, but when it comes to concrete measures, we get nothing,” said Dusseault.

“A regional airport would not only be an asset for Sherbrooke, but for the whole region,” added Rousseau. “The mayors, the provincial and federal MPs and the citizens must all be pushing in the same direction so that the airport becomes a priority. It’s not by working behind closed doors, each doing our own thing, that we’ll be able to get ahead,” said the MPs.
