Stanstead Journal - - NEWS BRIEFS - Derby Line, VT, Stanstead, QC

How far would you go to get what you want? Where would you draw the line on how far is TOO far? If it was wrong? What if you could get away with it?

The rare combination of white-knuckle-hold-your-breath moments with redfaced-lose-yourbreath-foot-stomping fun will keep you on the edge of your seat awaiting either a sharp intake of frightened breath or a fast outburst of amused laughter. Bodies and bodies of laughs await you in this hilariously suspenseful masterpiece.

Award-winning QNEK Productions, International Theatre Company in Residence at the Haskell Opera House, presents Deathtrap. Opening on Broadway in 1978, this Tony-nominated play holds the record for longest running comedy thriller on Broadway, was immortalized on the silver screen with Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve, and Dyan Cannon in 1982, and is considered by most to be the best suspense play of all time.

Directed by Phil Gosselin, this all-star cast of stage veterans is led by John Young as serially insatiable Sidney Bruhl, Sally Rivard as palpable and palpitating Myra Bruhl, Damon Cox as ravenously committed Clifford Anderson, Calvin Longe as devious, but dull Porter Milgrim, and Susan-Lynn Johns as the mystical, self-promoting psychic Helga ten Dorp.

Deathtrap’s production team includes Assistant Director Jenny Dunne, Stage Manager Lonn Stewart, Lighting Engineer Dennis Zeigler, and Set Engineer Rick Gosselin.

Deathtrap runs two weekends: October 4 and 5 at 7:30pm and October 6 at 2:00pm; October 11 and 12 at 7:30pm. The production is underwritten by Heron’s Path, Community National Bank, Passumpsic Bank, Community Circle, St. J Subaru, North Country Hospital, Paul Decelles Financial Strategies, Columbia
