Johnny Boot­leg­ger, re­cruit­ing young adults

The­p­ro­duc­tion com­pany of Johnny Boot­leg­ger, the mu­si­cal, is look­ing for re­cruits young peo­ple aged 18 to 35, to work on a fan­tas­tic pro­ject at the Haskell Opera House in Stanstead.

Any­one who is pas­sion­ate about dance, singing and mu­sic is in­vited to join the team that will be led by Lor­raine Beaudry, a well-known pro­fes­sional from the arts com­mu­nity.

The pro­ject will start in late Septem­ber and will con­tinue through­out the year, cul­mi­nat­ing in sev­eral per­for­mances in the sum­mer of 2014 at the Haskell Opera House. This unique theatre, seat­ing 400 peo­ple, is lo­cated di­rectly on the bor­der with the United States.

The in­struc­tion and pro­duc­tion will be bilin­gual. Many work­shops will be led by pro­fes­sion­als who will guide par­tic­i­pants and hone their skills in both the arts as well as in back stage pro­duc­tion, light­ing and sound.

Par­tic­i­pants should qual­ify un­der the rules of the Cen­tre lo­cal d’em­ploi de Mem­phrem­a­gog. The pro­ject aims to en­cour­age par­tic­i­pants to de­velop their artis­tic tal­ents, ex­pe­ri­ence the cre­ation of an ex­cit­ing pro­duc­tion. It will also aim to de­velop a new and unique tourism at­trac­tion in Stanstead which will also show­case the Haskell Opera House.

Spe­cial thanks to the sup­port and the col­lab­o­ra­tion of the Con­férence ré­gionale des élus del’Estrie, the Cen­tre Lo­cal d’em­ploi de Mem­phré­m­a­gog, the Town of Stanstead and the Stanstead Recre­ation As­so­ci­a­tion who will gov­ern the pro­gram.
