Mem­phrem­a­gog rec­og­nized for green­house gas re­duc­tions

Last week in Que­bec City, the Mem­phrem­a­gog MRC re­ceived the “Car­bore­spon­s­able” at­tes­ta­tion at the an­nual congress of the Fed­er­a­tion que­be­coises des mu­nic­i­palites (FQM) in recog­ni­tion of its proac­tiv­ity re­lated to the han­dling of green­house gasses. “The Mem­phrem­a­gog MRC and five of its mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties (Austin, Ayer’s Cliff, Bolton East, East­man and Ste. Cather­ine de Hat­ley) have ad­hered to the Cli­mate Mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties pro­gram since 2010. With the help of the team of ex­perts from Enviro-ac­ces, we have done an in­ven­tory of our green­house gas emis­sions for the year 2010, and elab­o­rated an ac­tion plan to re­duce green­house gasses be­tween 2012 and 2017,” com­mented Jac­ques De­mers, the pre­fect of the Mem­phrem­a­gog MRC.
