Memphremagog recognized for greenhouse gas reductions
Last week in Quebec City, the Memphremagog MRC received the “Carboresponsable” attestation at the annual congress of the Federation quebecoises des municipalites (FQM) in recognition of its proactivity related to the handling of greenhouse gasses. “The Memphremagog MRC and five of its municipalities (Austin, Ayer’s Cliff, Bolton East, Eastman and Ste. Catherine de Hatley) have adhered to the Climate Municipalities program since 2010. With the help of the team of experts from Enviro-acces, we have done an inventory of our greenhouse gas emissions for the year 2010, and elaborated an action plan to reduce greenhouse gasses between 2012 and 2017,” commented Jacques Demers, the prefect of the Memphremagog MRC.
