Col­lege Servite stu­dents get mov­ing

Fora sec­ond year in a row, the stu­dents of will take the chal­lenge on Oc­to­ber 24th, walk­ing or run­ning 15 kilo­me­tres or swim­ming another 14.2 kilo­me­tres. The aim of the ac­tiv­ity is to pro­mote phys­i­cal ac­tiv­ity and pro­vide stu­dents with an op­por­tu­nity to learn about per­se­ver­ance.

The day will be­gin with a con­fer­ence about per­se­ver­ance by the pop­u­lar Town­ships ‘slam­mer’, David Goudreault. That will be fol­lowed by the 15 kilo­me­tre jaunt, taken by some of the school’s per­son­nel as well as the stu­dents, on roads around the school, while fif­teen other stu­dents will swim across Lake Mas­saw­ippi, from Ayer’s Cliff to North Hat­ley. The stu­dents will re­lay ev­ery 400 to 700 me­tres to com­plete the 14.2 kilo­me­tre cross­ing.
