Over the Thanksgiving weekend, there were eleven collisions resulting in injuries and twenty-five collisions with only material damages on the territory of the Estrie. 541 tickets were given out, two thirds of them for speeding. The police handed out 223 warnings for various infractions of the road safety code and eleven people were arrested for driving under the influence.

Last year, the number of tickets given out was almost the same, the number of collisions with injuries was the same, at 11, but the number of collisions with material damage only went down from 44. Arrests for drinking and driving went up from six last year, however, there were no deaths on the highways over the weekend.
