Deer collisions up

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS -

At this time of year, the risk of collision with a deer on the road is at its peak. In 2012, 22 % of all collisions on the Estrie territory were with animals, usually deer. At dawn and at dusk, the deer are the most active, while the two critical periods during the year when they are most active are during the month of June and during the months of October and November.

It’s important to slow down where the transport department has installed deer crossing signs – they are put up in areas near large deer herds and near important feeding grounds!
