Reid to run again

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS - Victoria Vanier

More than ever convinced of the enormous potential of the Memphremagog MRC, whether in the economic, social or tourist sector, MNA Pierre Reid has confirmed his intention to defend, once again, the colours of the Quebec Liberal Party in the Orford riding during the next election.

“I am still motivated by the same desire to serve the citizens of the Orford riding at the National Assembly,” said Mr. Reid. “I sincerely believe that the population deserves more than what the government of the Parti Quebecois is offering since September of 2012 and this is an additional motivation for me to remain involved.”

As he has demonstrated in the past with files such as the expansion of the Magog hospital, the new sport centre at La Ruche, the revitalisation of Stanstead and the development of sport tourism, Pierre Reid believes that the Orford riding deserves more than the immobility proposed by the Parti Quebecois.

“The clumsy governance of the PQ for the last year has made us lose 40,000 jobs in Quebec and hasn’t helped us here in this riding. The recent announcements of the PQ government are not reassuring because they are far-off promises made with money that doesn’t exist,” continued Mr. Reid. “The Orford population has a right to a government that will put the economy back on track, and that’s what our Liberal team is proposing with Philippe Couillard.”

Elected as the Liberal MNA of Orford in 2003, and re-elected in 2007, 2008 and 2012, Mr. Reid is ready to defend his ideas and values if the government of Pauline Marois provokes elections in the coming weeks.
