An open letter to all Quebec political parties from a concerned Quebec Canadian

Stanstead Journal - - FORUM -

To introduce myself, I’m a proud Canadian Dutchman, Casey Vriesendorp. I landed in Canada via the port of Quebec City from Les Pays Bas. I have resided in Ontario, Manitoba, New Brunswick and currently for the last 30 years in Quebec.

I’m very sorry to say that the political environment seems to go downhill fast since the PQ are in power. 1st the language and additional laws: discrimination. 2nd Education in all sectors: discrimination. 3rd This new concept about values and religious items, including nuns and priests: discrimination.

Previously, I mentioned I’m a very proud Dutch-born Canadian and very open-minded. The PQ seems very short-sighted and narrowminded.

As for me personally, it makes no difference skin colour, religion, language, rich or poor. Personal mutual respect is what counts. I just wish for mutual respect. After all, we are a multilingual, multicultural society.

To all our politicians: can you make general improvements? Do not forget we have elected you.

I favour the NDP and the CAQ; they believe in social justice. The Conservatives and Liberals believe in lining their own pockets. The PQ are disturbing and dividing all taxpayers like Nazi Germany.

Trusting and wishing for a better quality of life and general political environment.

A proud Canadian Casey Vriesendorp
