A Baroque En­counter with Arion at Cen­ten­nial The­atre

On Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 27th at 3pm, Cen­ten­nial The­atre launches its Clas­si­cal Mu­sic Se­ries with the Arion Orchestre Baroque un­der the di­rec­tion of co-founder and flutist Claire Gui­mond. The con­cert en­ti­tled Mélange Baroque : Bach et Tele­mann will fea­ture guest flutist Vin­cent Lauzer (Révéla­tion Ra­dio-Canada – Musique clas­sique 2013) in a pro­gram of mu­sic by Baroque con­tem­po­raries Jo­hann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) and Ge­org Phillip Tele­mann (1681-1767). The con­cert be­gins with mu­sic by Tele­man; Ou­ver­ture (Suite) in a mi­nor for recorder, strings and basso con­tinuo, TWV 55:a and the Con­certo in e mi­nor for flute and recorder, TWV 52:e1. For the sec­ond half, Arion and guest Lauzer will per­form the mu­sic of Bach, namely the Suite in b mi­nor, BWV 1067 for flute, strings and basso con­tinuo and will con­clude the af­ter­noon with the Con­certo Brand­bour­geois no. 25 in D ma­jor for flute, vi­olin, harp­si­chord, strings and basso con­tinuo BWV 1050.
