Memphré’s eye on 24 projects
Twenty-four business projects have been presented to the CLD of Memphremagog and they are now being analyzed to see which ones will move on to be presented to the panel of experts at the end of the month. “We took a new strategy for this edition by offering information sessions and that seemed to help the promoters to prepare and present their projects better,” said Yves Lanthier, the general director of the CLD.
The CLD is equally confident that the promotional campaign surrounding the Eye of Memphre will have long term and positive effects, notably the positioning of the CLD as the resource to contact with a business project and for information about their services and those of their partners.
“Again this year, we are enthusiastic about the response from business people,” added Mr. Lanthier. “The Eye of Memphre offers an ideal platform for entrepreneurs to present their projects. It incites people to act on their ideas and we believe that it has led to the emergence of several projects that would not have begun so quickly without this motivation.”
The panel of experts is composed of personnel from the CIBC, the National Bank, the CAE of Memphremagog, Desjardins de l’Estrie’s business finance centre, Investment Quebec, the ministry of Finance and the Economy, the CLD of Memphremagog, as well as a representative of FIER Innovation Durable, depending on the dossier being presented.
