North Hatley News
North Hatley’s municipal council meeting on December 2nd, attended by four residents, was a short one. There was a little discussion about the water plant which is being built. The piping of the new system will begin to be installed in the spring and finished during the summer.
A defibrillator has been donated to the community by Rachel Pollock, the daughter of the late Sam Pollock. “This one will be installed in the Community Centre,” said Leonard Castagner, the town’s General Manager. The town already has three public automated external defibrillators (AED’s): one at the fire hall; one at the Connaught Home; and one that is shared between the Curling Club and the Golf Club, depending on the season. The town will be organizing a training course on the use of a defibrillator as soon as possible.
The topic of the possible development of a senior’s residence, which was discussed much before the election, did not come up at the meeting.
