College Servite to India

Stanstead Journal - - FORUM - Victoria Vanier, Ayer's Cliff

Severalstudents of College Servite, in Ayer’s Cliff, will be spending their Christmas holiday a little far from home: in the Tamil Nadu State in the south of India. The six students will join up with other Servite students from the United States, France and Australia for the visit to India. The students will first meet in Chennai, then head south to visit temples, Servite schools for handicapped children and a leper-house, also run by the local community of Servites de Marie.

There are two main goals of this trip: to make students aware of the daily lives of the people in this part of the world while living a unique spiritual experience; and to better understand the reality of Indians, India being an economic force in the world of business today.

The benefits of the trip will be many for the College Servite and its students because of the connections that will be made with the other schools visited. The students are taking the trip as specialists and ambassadors of projects and activities so that each student will have a connection to the schools visited and a better understanding of life in India.

The Ayer’s Cliff students will leave on December 26th for this two week trip.
