Sunnyside says "NO" to Bullying

Stanstead Journal - - FRONT PAGE - Victoria Vanier Stanstead

Last week was an important week at Sunnyside because it was our Anti-Bully week. Throughout the week, all students and staff participated in a variety of activities that were organized by our Spiritual Animator Kristal Maguire. Students met on Monday for an assembly, during which time they were given pink anti-bully bracelets that they were encouraged to wear all week. They also made posters in each homeroom to be placed in the lobby of the school as well as pink circles with kind words written on them. Friday was our closing ceremony when most of the students and staff wore pink shirts to support the awareness of Anti-Bully week. The ceremony ended in the gym with all students, staff and special guest forming a human chain to show our unity and support against bullying. It was a successful week with a lot of positive messages given about a very important issue that affects many of us on different levels.
