On Monday, police in the Val St-Francois MRC received a call from a citizen who saw a man, in broad daylight, trying to steal an all-terrain vehicle on a property on the River Road in St-Francois-Xavier-de-Brompton. After he was startled by the witness, the suspect took off by foot towards Sherbrooke. Patrollers with the Sureté

du Quebec quickly alerted the Sherbrooke police who went to the area to continue the pursuit of the suspect on foot. They soon localised the suspect when he tried to hide along autoroute 55 near the Sherbrooke city limits. The SQ were then told of his location by the Sherbrooke police and arrested him.
