Aboutone hundred members of the 10th Scout group, welcomed Olympic athlete Clara Hughes, last week, during her cross-country bicycling tour to raise awareness about mental illness. The Scouts had a chance to meet with the two-sport Olympic athlete and presented her with a special scarf with the colours of the 10th Est-Calade.

“The fact that our youth could meet Clara Hughes is an exceptional opportunity. She is a living example of perseverance and involvement, two important qualities for our Scouts. It was also an excellent opportunity to learn more about a taboo subject in our society: mental illness,” commented Etienne Boisvert, the president of the10th Scout group, Est-Calade.

A partnership was announced on March 28th,

in Montreal, between the XMAN Race and the Quebec Arthritis Society. Seen in the photo are (l. to r.) Audrey NadeauRobichaud, strongman Hugo Girard,
