Stanstead Journal - - NEWS - Victoria Vanier, Stanstead

Volunteers of the Colby-Curtis Museum had a chance to get together for tea, coffee and a special cake in the museum’s beautiful solarium during Volunteer Week, last Friday. “It is the first time that we’ve done something during Volunteer Week in many years, but we’d like to do it regularly to recognize the work and dedication of our volunteers,” said Chloe Southam, the Museum’s director.

The Museum is looking for more volunteers of all ages. “We don’t just put volunteers where needed, it depends on the interests of the volunteers. Some prefer to volunteer in the boutique, in the archives, others for upcoming events like our Easter Egg Hunt. We’d really like to see students and young people volunteer, too. I’m concerned about young people and the amount of interest they have in heritage and culture. I’d like to awaken that in young people,” added Ms. Southam
