Salon Emploi gets 275 visitors

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS - Magog

About 275 people went to the Salon Emploi Memphremagog last Wednesday, held in the basement of the St. Jean Bosco Church, in Magog. Participants found out about the many jobs available in the region and some took part in conferences aimed at helping people look for work successfully.

There were about twenty kiosks, sixteen employers and four training centres or employment organizations, and around 150 jobs were being offered. It was the first such event in Magog and the feedback from participants and employers was good. The jobs being offered were quite varied, from seasonal to permanent, and many requiring different levels of education and competencies.

About twenty employers who couldn’t attend posted their job openings on the ‘ Mur de l’emploi’ and visitors were then able to leave their CVs. One hundred CVs were collected like this and they will be delivered to the employers.
