Stanstead College students support the community

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS -

Under cool conditions and cloudy skies, Stanstead College students and teachers fanned out across Stanstead, Ayer’s Cliff, North Hatley and Derby, Vt. Thursday afternoon as part of their annual Community Day. This was the third year for the spring cleaning session and the first time the students ventured out of town, participating in public cleanups, walking dogs and visiting local seniors. Students raked leaves and picked up debris at Centenary United Church, Sunnyside Elementary School, the Colby-Curtis Museum, the North Hatley Club and on College grounds, among other locations. They cleared debris along the Tomifobia Nature Trail. They visited seniors and shut-ins at the Connaught Home, Derby Green and Stanstead Manor, disassembled a fence, sorted books at the Rotary Club Book Store and the Haskell Free Library, walked animals at the Frontier Animal Society and more. The day was organized by Community Service coordinator Carmen Campbell.
