From Galt to Boston
Special collaboration Alex Muravskey Galt Media Literacy Class Sherbrooke, Lennoxville
OnApril 30th forty five level two students from Alexander Galt High School will be travelling to Boston, Massachusetts. The students are part of Mr. Dubois’ Social Studies French class. They will embark on a three-day journey that will see them explore many famous attractions in the Boston area. Since the students learn about the French and American Revolutions, it is a great opportunity to go to Boston, because this city played a big role in these historical events.
On the first day, they will be going to Fenway Park, to see where the Red Sox play baseball, the Freedom Trail Historical Tour, and the Prudential Tower to see the city. On the second day, they will hop on the Duck Boat Tour to see more of the city and then they will visit Harvard University. After lunch they will tour the Plymouth Plantation, which is a historical city. The group will finish off the day by doing a bit of shopping at Quincy Market.
On the last day, they will get a guided tour of the USS Constitution Ship which is the first commission warship of the U.S.A. Finally, they will finish their tour by going to the Science Museum.
The idea of this trip started five years and because of its popularity and dedicated teachers it looks like it will continue for a long time.
