Beebe Caisse to close in June
The service outlet of the Caisse Desjardins du Lac-Memphremagog in the Beebe sector will close its doors on June 6th.
After a serious reflection on the deployment of their services, the members of the Board of Directors of the Caisse Desjardins du Lac-Memphremagog have decided to regroup the two Stanstead service points into one. The Beebe Caisse will close on June 6th, 2014, along with its automatic teller machine. The number of transactions at this machine was insufficient to keep it open.
“We are very aware that the closing of the Beebe service centre represents a change in habit for those members that use it, especially those who were not using the automated services. We are confident that they will quickly adapt while we accompany them in the change. Moreover, they will be able to use the Stanstead service point which will respond to their needs. Our studies showed that Stanstead residents travel over a large territory to make their purchases. It is therefore possible for them to make withdrawals at the depanneur or the grocery store,” wrote the Caisse Desjardins du Lac-Memphremagog in their press release announcing the closure.
Closures like these are particularly difficult on seniors who either have never learnt or are not equipped, sometimes for financial reasons, to do their banking on line, and who no longer drive or own a vehicle.
