JessieLambert and David Trepanier from the Alexander Galt Badminton Team have been named Piper Athletes of the month for April.

Lambert, a member of the Bantam Girls Badminton team helped the Pipers win the 45th Invitational Badminton Tournament at Galt by posting a perfect 7-0 record in the girls singles category and winning the gold medal in the process. The Grade eight student dominated her opponents from start to finish with power and quickness. The Sherbrooke Elementary grad is part of the ever-popular Sports Concentration program at Galt in which she is also on the Honour Roll with an 80% plus average. The two-sport athlete will be back to defend her title next year as a Junior, but not before the 14-year point guard plays basketball in the winter season.

David Trepanier did his part in helping the Pipers win the badminton tournament by posting a 7-0 record as well and claiming the gold medal along the way. The Sherbrooke native dominated the Bantam Boys category with his intelligence and athletic ability on the court. The 14-year old is also a member of the Sports Concentration program where he excels in the classroom by being on the Principals List with a 90% plus average. Trepanier is also a Sherbrooke Elementary grad and his academic and athletic success can be attributed to his strong work ethic and attitude. Trepanier will be back to defend his title as a Junior next year, but not before he suits up for the Piper Hockey team in the winter.
