Sher­brooke re­or­ga­nizes man­age­ment

Sher­brooke­has an­nounced the cre­ation of a new man­age­ment struc­ture fol­low­ing the ad­vice of its new gen­eral di­rec­tor, Yves Vermette. The va­cant po­si­tion of As­sis­tant Gen­eral Di­rec­tor – Com­mu­nity ser­vice, will be re­placed with two po­si­tions to bet­ter face the chal­lenges of the com­ing years. The mod­i­fi­ca­tions will save the City roughly $60,000 an­nu­ally. Some po­si­tions will be left va­cant or oc­cu­pied by se­nior em­ploy­ees.

Marie France De­lage has been nom­i­nated as the DGA – Re­la­tions com­mu­nau­taire. Un­til now the di­rec­tor of sports, cul­ture and com­mu­nity life, she will su­per­vise the Bor­oughs, com­mu­ni­ca­tion ser­vices and sports, cul­ture and com­mu­nity life.

Gaetan Drouin was nom­i­nated the DGA – Op­ti­mi­sa­tion et se­cu­rite publique. The for­mer fire depart­ment di­rec­tor has a man­date to re­place the City’s Or­a­cle pro­gram and be­gin an anal­y­sis of the op­er­a­tional and ad­min­is­tra­tive pro­cesses.

“Dur­ing the com­ing years we will be­gin nu­mer­ous projects to op­ti­mize and re­vise our ac­tiv­i­ties in or­der to re­duce the level of mu­nic­i­pal spend­ing. The new struc­ture will be re­viewed in the com­ing years,” said Mr. Vermette.
