Find out about new health clinic this Saturday
Organizers of the Massawippi Valley Health Centre, to be located in Ayer’s Cliff, will be in Stanstead this Saturday to explain the project in detail. A meeting, open to everyone, will take place in Pierce Hall, at Stanstead College, from 10:00 am to noon.
Last Saturday’s information meeting in Ayer’s Cliff was attended by about seventy-five people. “The people at Saturday’s meeting had some excellent questions,” said Carol Mooney, one of the organizers. “We spoke about the advantages of a health coop, how the membership works and how much it will cost to be a member,” continued Mrs. Mooney. Organizers will also explain why they decided to go with the cooperative model for the clinic, of which there are now forty in Quebec. The proposed clinic will provide various health services to people of all ages and people can see a copy of the clinic’s design layout at the meeting.
Further meetings will take place in Ste-Catherine-de-Hatley on May 24th, in Stanstead Township on May 25th, and in North Hatley on May 31st.
