Fron­tier’s an­nual dog walk com­ing up

Ifyou’re an an­i­mal lover and you love the great out­doors, then you won’t want to miss this year’s an­nual Fron­tier An­i­mal So­ci­ety Dog Walk, a five kilo­me­tre walk along the beau­ti­ful Mas­saw­ippi Na­ture Trail. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Og­den shel­ter that is home to about thirty dogs and forty cats. This year’s walk will take place on Satur­day, June 7th, with walk­ers and their dogs gath­er­ing at 65 Em­bury Road, in Tomi­fo­bia. Reg­is­tra­tion will be­gin at 10:30 am and the walk will be­gin at 11:00 and last about one and a half hours. It will take place rain, snow, hail, sleet or shine! Last year’s walk, held on May 25th, saw all of those!

People who would like to take part can ei­ther walk their own dog or walk one of the shel­ter’s dogs. The sug­gested do­na­tion is $25 per fam­ily, how­ever, people can also get friends and fam­ily to help spon­sor their walk by get­ting a pledge form by email­ing the Fron­tier An­i­mal So­ci­ety at fron­tieran­i­mal­so­ci­, or by call­ing 819 876-7747. Sand­wiches, bev­er­ages and treats for the dogs will be served af­ter the walk.

People are al­ways wel­come to drop off sup­plies at the shel­ter, such as cat food, dog food, old blan­kets and tow­els, and clean­ing prod­ucts. For more in­for­ma­tion about the Dog Walk, call Brenda at 819 876-7747.
