Frontier’s annual dog walk coming up
Ifyou’re an animal lover and you love the great outdoors, then you won’t want to miss this year’s annual Frontier Animal Society Dog Walk, a five kilometre walk along the beautiful Massawippi Nature Trail. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Ogden shelter that is home to about thirty dogs and forty cats. This year’s walk will take place on Saturday, June 7th, with walkers and their dogs gathering at 65 Embury Road, in Tomifobia. Registration will begin at 10:30 am and the walk will begin at 11:00 and last about one and a half hours. It will take place rain, snow, hail, sleet or shine! Last year’s walk, held on May 25th, saw all of those!
People who would like to take part can either walk their own dog or walk one of the shelter’s dogs. The suggested donation is $25 per family, however, people can also get friends and family to help sponsor their walk by getting a pledge form by emailing the Frontier Animal Society at email@example.com, or by calling 819 876-7747. Sandwiches, beverages and treats for the dogs will be served after the walk.
People are always welcome to drop off supplies at the shelter, such as cat food, dog food, old blankets and towels, and cleaning products. For more information about the Dog Walk, call Brenda at 819 876-7747.
