Dr. Michele Murray Appointed As Dean Of Arts And Science At Bishop’s University
Dr.Michele Murray has been appointed as Dean of Arts and Science of Bishop’s University effective July 1, 2014. Dr. Murray served as interim Dean of Arts and Science for the past year. She joined Bishop’s in 1999 and is currently full professor in the William and Nancy Turner Chair in Christianity.
Dr. Miles Turnbull, Vice-Principal Academic, says: “Michele enjoys a strong reputation among students for her commitment to them and to excellent teaching. As part of the senior academic team, she will bring experience and intimate knowledge of and commitment to Bishop’s University.’’
Dr. Murray has a strong record of publication, including books, refereed scholarly articles and book chapters, clearly establishing her as an expert in Jewish-Christian relations. Dr. Murray is winner of the 2014 William and Nancy Turner teaching award, the top teaching honor at the University.
Dr. Murray holds a B.A. in History from Trinity Western University, an MA in Second Temple period Jewish history from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a PhD in religion from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Michele Murray is an expert in Jewish-Christian relations and winner of the 2014 William and Nancy Turner teaching award, the top teaching honor at the University.
