Bergeron affair continues
In another twist to an already murky case, Sylvain Bergeron, who was arrested in January on drug charges, appeared briefly before Judge Carla Alessio-Policandriotes on Monday. The Illinois prosecutors are saying that tests were still pending at the crime lab to confirm the presence of narcotics in the bundle police seized. They are expected to be completed sometime in July.
Along with his public defender attorney, he reviewed documents before the case was called.
Bergeron, who faces years in prison if convicted, said nothing to Alessio-Policandriotes.
In a case with more questions than answers, this latest turn of events is even stranger than the rest of the case: Why is it that, at this stage of the procedure, the prosecution seems unsure of what was seized from Bergeron?
